*World No Tobacco Day 2019*
The college marked the “World No Tobacco Day 2019” on 31st May by organising an one kilometre “Walkathon”. The walkathon was flagged off by Mr. Balagopalan at 10am. The students walked from Moonuperiya to Peralassery and they shouted the slogans on Anti Tobacco. The students were accompanied by the Principal and staff. They had even performed a street play and flash mob during the walkathon campaign. The focus of the World No Tobacco Day for this year is “ Tobacco and lung health”. The college carried this theme in the right spirit and portrayed the health hazards of Tobacco to the public. All the students actively participated in this and were guided in the right manner by the principal and staff. The walkathon completed at 11.30 am.
In the afternoon section, the college organised a lecture by Mr. Nasar, Excise Preventive Officer, Kannur Range . He stressed about the risks caused by tobacco and its adverse effects on society. The lecture was very perceptive which also included some knowledge about the exercises for lung health. The lecture winded up by 5pm.
